An Invitation for Transformative Change Through Liberatory Research

Pacific University

May 9, 2023

During this engaging workshop, we fostered a collaborative environment where mental health professionals (MHPs) and students jointly explored the potential of research as a catalyst for social transformation. Our primary objective was to equip attendees with essential insights into anti-oppressive research, empowering them to define key terms and delve into the principles of liberatory research. By illustrating the profound impact of anti-oppressive research through concrete examples and a comprehensive literature review, we demonstrated how it could positively transform the perspectives of MHPs, students, and co-researchers alike.
